What should I know before I move in?

A lease is a basic agreement between you and the owner of the community. The lease is legally binding and enforceable through the legal system. If you choose to move out before the end of the lease terms, you could still be responsible to pay the remainder of the lease agreement.

What deposits are required?

A deposit could range from ½ months’ rent to two full months’ rent in order to reserve the apartment. If approved with guarantor (with approved credit), there will be a $250-$350 security deposit. If there are failures to provide payments on the apartment, the guarantor will be responsible to provide those payments. Deposits will be refunded after final inspections are completed with no damages to apartment or furnishings. A guarantor must meet the following criteria: be 27 years of age or older, have good credit standing, and gross 3.5 times the rental amount monthly. The lease fee for all applicants is $200.

Is renters insurance required?

No, however it is encouraged. Renters insurance is a policy you can purchase to protect your personal property as the management/landlords is not responsible for replacement to tenants. Replacement of your belongings if they are damaged, lost, or stolen could be covered. TCC does not promote any specific insurance coverage company to use.

What type of apartments are available?

Barrington Apartments offers 1 and 2 bedroom floor plans. With five different options to choose from, ask your leasing specialist which floor plan may work best for you based on what you are looking for in your new apartment home.

How close is the community to the SJRSC campus?

We are directly across from the campus on Moody Road.

What is your pet policy?

We are pet friendly with no breed restrictions up to 80 lbs. The pet fee will range from $250-$350, and pet rent will range from $25-45. Both pet fee and pet rent are dependent upon the age and weight of your pet.

When is rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of each month and will be considered late on the 4th. There are late fees of $50.00 on the 4th and $10.00 each day after until paid in full. Online rental payments through the Resident Portal App can be automatically set up.

When is move-in day and how long is the lease agreement?

Move-in day can be any time of year.

Do you allow short-term leases?

We offer lease terms ranging from 8-13 months. For any lease term under 11 months, there are additional charges.

Do you allow subletting?

No, but we do allow re-assignment of the lease. Your leasing professional would be happy to discuss the details if you need more information.

Do I have to pay for parking?

No. Parking is first come, first served.
